Kalyāṇavermā Sārāvalī | Ch.49
Kalyāṇavermā enumerates the effects and nature of the twenty-four horā for the twelve signs when it is occupied by the Lagna. However, we have found that the results need to be carefully blended taking into account the horā occupied by the lagna and lagneśa.
The chapter is named “Horā Guṇa Kathana Adhyāya” explicitly mentioning the focus being “Horā Guṇa”. This is the fifth method of the vṛtti of horā where the zodiac is divided into two halves by an imaginary day-night line passing through the stating points of Leo and Aquarius representing the constant battle between Indra and Tvaṣṭṛ āditya like a tug-of-war between the day and night. Translation of the śloka is provided for ready reference.
