Dasāṁśa Devatā

digbala
The deities of the Dasāṁśa are the ten digpāla including Brahma (vertical downwards) and Ananta (vertical upwards) reckoned directly in odd signs and in the reverse in even signs.

Since digpāla are the devatā of the dasāṁśa, planets in digbala in the rāśi or dasāṁśa have a strong bearing on professions.

  • Digbala from lagna shows blessings that give special abilities, planet related work or subject matter as a mental direction of success due to the concerned digpāla devatā. Worship of the digpāla devatā is vital to strengthen this blessing
  • Digbala from āruḍha lagna shows the physical directions which bring success or failure
  • Digbala from Chattira Rāśi is the power to work in a specific field as chattira rāśi shows the destiny in the palm (also what is in the hand/palm).
  • Digbala is always reckoned from the Viṣṇu sthāna i.e. kendra bhāva and shows the power of the avatāra that is exercised by the digpāla devatā.
