Bhāṁśa Slides

This is a peculiar division as the one-twenty-seventh portion of a sign equals 1°06’40”. Now the one-twelfth portion of a nakṣatra equals the same 1°06’40”. Thus the 27th part of a rāśi = 12th part of nakṣatra. This is the meeting point of the solar energy of the rāśi and the lunar energy of the nakṣatra. When we use the word Bhāṁśa. We are specifically referring to the 27th part of rāśi as in D27 Chart. On the other hand, while the nakṣatra is the same and maps exactly the same, it specifically refers to the 12th portion of the nakṣatra.
